Maryborough Community House is encouraging residents to come and celebrate Maryborough’s cultural diversity at a Harmony Day event at Maryborough Community House on 20th March from 11:30am until 1pm for a fun filled feast from around the world and why not bring a recipe from your culture or your heritage to add to our cookbook!
“We want everyone, no matter who they are or where they’re from, to come along and have fun and appreciate that our differences make our community a great place to live.”
Harmony Day was introduced by the Government in 1999 to promote a singular and unifying notion of “Australian-ness” within multi-cultural policy.
“We had a very successful Harmony Day celebration luncheon today. A great time was had by all. It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying the Multi-Cultural menu on offer for the day. Thanks also go to our event sponsors, our volunteers and staff for making this a stand out event for the house. We look forward to having this Harmony Day event again this time next year. Save the date. More photos to come soon. Fully booked out too. We are only limited by available space.”
